One of the biggest days of the season came on Saturday. Norbert arrived at the 24 Heures Camions weekend with a 105-point lead and needed just 15 points from Race 1 to settle the championship with a round to spare.
He got them in the best way possible: he won Race 1 ahead of Jochen Hahn and Steffi Halm. It was victory number 16 of the season and his record-extending eighth European title.
It feels very good and I'm very proud of my team, Révész Racing, and very thankful to the owner, Mr Bálint Révész, for giving us the opportunity to be here. The whole season they worked so hard and gave me a very good truck and, on every occasion, we were very fast, they make my job always a bit easier. We were building the gap every weekend, step by step. Eventually we arrived here and I'm very happy we could close the title with a victory.
José Eduardo Rodrigues won Race 2 from the reverse-grid pole. Norbert finished fourth.
Sunday: two more wins
Even with the title in the bag he did not ease off. In the second qualifying session he set a lap of 2m03.820s for pole position number 12 of 2026 (his best at Le Mans in 2025 was 2m04.322s). In Race 3 he won by a commanding 8.801 seconds from six-time champion Jochen Hahn, and in Race 4 he charged from eighth on the reverse grid to the win, ahead of Bradley Smith and Antonio Albacete.
For sure I had a good start and could overtake Jochen after the first chicane. In front of me there was a bit of chaos and there was some luck included with people making mistakes, so those were some easy overtakes. But I had some more difficult ones, like on René on the braking zone at the first chicane or against John Newell on the outside of Turn 4 I think, so I made some good moves. It's very difficult to win the reverse-grid race and I'm happy it worked out this way.
The Teams' title as well
The other big news of the weekend: the points scored by Norbert and René Reinert at Le Mans secured the Goodyear FIA ETRC Teams' title for their joint Révész-Reinert Racing Team, with one round to go.
We also closed the Teams' championship together with René, so very happy to win the Teams' championship as well, because the guys from Révész Racing and Reinert Racing worked really hard. We go to Jarama now. Of course all the pressure is off, but we don't lay back, we keep pushing because you're only worth as much as your last race.
The same weekend José Eduardo Rodrigues clinched the Young Driver title and John Newell took the Chrome lead. Steffi Halm won the weekend's Wingfoot Award.
All titles are subject to final confirmation by the FIA.
