The Belgian Truck Grand Prix weekend took place on the 4.001-kilometre Circuit Zolder. On Saturday Norbert won Race 1 from pole position, victory number 13 of the season, ahead of Antonio Albacete and Jochen Hahn. In Race 2 he came through to fourth from the reverse grid, with Sascha Lenz taking the win.
Good race, good start and we stayed in front on the first lap. I had a bit of a gap and then I had to watch out not to make a mistake or over-speed, which is easy here in Zolder with the bridges that can make you go a bit fast with the GPS signal. The tyres were holding up very well. Another good job from Révész Racing again.
Sunday in the rain
Rain greeted the field on Sunday. A quarter of an hour before the start of Race 3 there was a heavy downpour and the start was delayed, but the rain eased and most of the circuit became raceable. Norbert started from his 10th pole position of 2026 and won the race ahead of Albacete and Lenz.
The wait was worth it, because 15 minutes before the start, when we came to the grid, the rain was really bad and then I would not have liked to race. But we waited and the rain stopped and the conditions improved and 90 per cent of the circuit was okay, only some places where there was some standing water. But we avoided that. We worked very well in the rain and got the rhythm.
In Race 4 he started eighth and fought his way to the front with a series of spectacular overtakes, including a pass around the outside of Jochen Hahn, who had led for the first eight laps. It was win number 15 of the season, with Sascha Lenz second and Jochen Hahn third.
Good race and I enjoyed the wet for sure. Conditions were improving so I could find a bit of extra grip, some special lines on the outside. I could brake very late, have some good exits and overtake some people. There were some tight calls, as expected in a rain race like this, but I was very happy to catch Jochen and overtake him on the outside. It's satisfying when you can make these overtakes stick.
After Zolder Norbert leads with 277 points, with Lenz second on 172. The gap is 105 points with two rounds and eight races to go.
